i actually skipped crossfit on wednesday, because lately it almost feels like i’m never home. i wake up at 6:30, pack our lunches, clean up, shower, go to work, leave work at 4, go grocery shopping if i can squeeze it in, come home, let the dog out, feed the animals, cook dinner (or at least get everything ready if i don’t have time), clean up the apartment a bit (at the very least, vacuum up the damn cat litter), get dressed, leave for crossfit at 5:30, home by 7:30, shower, make dinner, finally eat around 8:30, watch TV and/or a movie and/or work on websites, and GO TO BED.
brett has been working overtime the last 2 weeks. i’ve been doing all that. we’ve been seeing each other for uh… about 3-4 hours a day, tops, not including actually sleeping. it SUCKS. there are just not enough hours in the day.
i needed a break. i had a bit of a meltdown tuesday night and i think part of that was due to not giving myself enough personal/down time lately. i’ve been stressing myself out more than anything, and i finally snapped. wednesday was absolutely necessary, and i’m really glad i didn’t go. i needed that hour or so to myself… to wind down after work… relax… not be around ANYONE. if i’ve learned anything about myself in the last year and a half, it’s that i require alone time. and that just hasn’t happened since i started crossfit.
“Muscle-Up Monday”

wallballs (10lbs)
i wrote down my reps for these in my phone, but i don’t remember what they were offhand. all i know is, monday sucked. by the time i got to the wallballs, i was whipped. also, wallballs are no fun for short people. period.
tuesday’s workout… i finished in 4:40. not too terrible.
Overhead Squat, 5-4-4-3 reps, 45 lbs
then….
3 rounds for time:
10 overhead squats (45 lbs)
20 slamballs (10lbs)
skip wednesday.
last night’s workout… which was Death by Deadlift:
Back Squat, 9-7-5-3 reps (45lbs, 55lbs, 55lbs, 60lbs)
then…
“Death by Deadlift” (85lbs)
With a continuously running clock do one deadlift the first minute, two deadlifts the second minute, three deadlifts the third minute… continuing as long as you are able.
i did 15 rounds and i was SO proud of myself. my form was better, and i added more weight. it’s nice to see myself improving finally. it’s also nice that i can do squats without looking like a tard.
