I’m Whitney and this is my personal bubble on the net.

I’m a 23 year old graduate from Appalachian State University living in Charleston, South Carolina, with my dog, Loki, and my cat, Thor. I am an INFOSEC analyst and a freelance web developer in my spare time.

I was born and raised in North Carolina, and despite how I was raised, I’ve become kind of a country girl after living in Boone for 5 years. I love the outdoors (camping, fishing, hiking, tromping around in the woods, playing with guns, bonfires, skiing, snowboarding, blowing things up, etc.). I am a social drinker and that tends to make the Southern accent quite obvious sometimes. My favorites are Jack Daniel’s and moonshine. I also LOVE horror movies, sci-fi, musicals, concerts, and any form of entertainment that is Disney related. I have a thing for body modification and my list is steadily growing. I recently learned that I enjoy true crime books. I’ll read anything twisted enough to keep me from falling asleep. I have a small obsession with weapons as well.

As far as computers go, it’s a bit of an obsession. My geeky t-shirt collection can prove that. It started out when my dad introduced me to our very first computer when I was about four. It all went downhill from there. I became especially addicted when I was about 10 and began designing personal web pages as well as web sites for friends when I was 11. That quickly developed into what you see here, my domain. It’s been a work in progress for years as well as a learning experience. It’s also helped to meet some of my closest friends and even a few jobs. I built my personal computer in high school and that got me more interested in hardware and computer repair, and I eventually turned that into my personal server for this website. College was an amazing opportunity to expand on what I already know, especially while I worked at tech. support. I was introduced to Linux my freshman year. I had used it before but that was the first time I experienced working with it more in depth and it’s something I’m still always working on. Having lots of nerdy friends has been great for this and joining the on campus Linux Users Group and Gaming Club and AITP multiplied my fascination for computers and computer games (Quake III Arena mostly  ) by quite a bit.

Before I die, I’m going back to Scandinavia and Australia, traveling to Tuscany, riding a bull, learning to surf, going skydiving, getting a crotch rocket, and buying my own 4-wheeler and/or dirt bike. I want a sweet house in the country with a lot of land and the love of my life. I love Mexican food, ice cream, fresh salad, a comfy pair of sweatpants, good company, and music that makes me get chills down my spine. I laugh a lot. Life is good.

That’s my life, in a nutshell.
